BD Enniscorthy partnering with Junior Achievement Ireland

BD Enniscorthy is partnering up with Junior Achievement Ireland with the aim of inspiring and motivating local students to realise their potential by valuing education and understanding how to succeed in the world of work.

15 staff members from various departments across the company have volunteered to teach a Junior Achievement programme in local primary and secondary schools. They will be teaching a range of different topics that enhance the school curriculum such as social, entrepreneurial and science skills.

The programme will be five weeks long and not only will they teach the Junior Achievement programme, but they will also share their own experience working in BD Enniscorthy and share information with the children on what it’s like to work for the global medical technology company.

Gráinne Nolan from the BD Enniscorthy Human Resources Department said ‘Junior Achievement Ireland is truly an exciting programme to be a part of. All volunteers have received excellent training, delivered by the very knowledgeable and professional team members of Junior Achievement. The volunteers look forward to giving back to the local community, inspiring young minds and highlighting the great career opportunities in BD Enniscorthy.’

Junior Achievement Ireland are delighted to have BD Enniscorthy on board.

‘We are thrilled to be working with BD and as a result of this new partnership with the volunteering efforts of 15 staff we can reach many students in Enniscorthy this school year,’ said Denise Power, South East Area Manager. ‘Thanks to the support of organisations such as BD we are able to bring the real world into classrooms through the experience and insights of trained business volunteers. Helping students to connect what they do in school with the world around them to ensure they see the relevance of their studies in their everyday lives is a very important aspect of their development.’
