The name change is following the acquisition of parent company C. R. BARD by Becton Dickinson (BD) in late 2017. It is now one of the largest medical device companies in the world. The combined company will have 65,000 employees worldwide and more than 90 manufacturing plants. BD is present in almost every country in the world and provides a vast array of products to help advance the world of health by improving medical discovery, diagnostics and the delivery of care.
Director of Operations Pauline Oakes said: ‘It’s an exciting time for us here in Enniscorthy. We are once again embracing a new opportunity within BD. We have seen many changes over the 22 years of our history and we have continued to grow and prosper during all of those. We really welcome this fantastic new opportunity and to continuing our journey with our new BD identity.’
