BENNETT TARMACADAM: Michael Bennett

Michael is Managing Director of Bennett Tarmacadam and an active director of Niall Barry & Co, Coolderry Plant, Dromalane Properties and Cleanfill. He has over 40 years of experience in sales, marketing and contracts management in the construction and engineering sectors. As a pioneer of Passive Home development in Ireland, he has raised the profile of Michael Bennett & Sons in adapting Sustainable Energy technologies to the Irish marketplace and sourcing previously imported building materials from local suppliers.

 

CREANE & CREANE: Tony Doyle

Tony Doyle commenced working in the Insurance Industry in 1986 with GRE, now AXA. He progressed to area manager with GRE before returning to Enniscorthy in 1990 to work as business development manager with Creane & Creane Insurance. Tony focussed on driving growth in both the Personal and Commercial Insurance areas of Creane & Creane, making it one of the largest brokers in the South East today, employing over 30 people and with clients nationwide. He became a director of the company in 2000 and Managing Director in 2006 and he looks forward to the continued growth and success of the company.

 

MONART: Michael Griffin

A business graduate from NUI Galway and a graduate of Shannon College of Hotel Management, Michael joined the Griffin Group in 2005 after a number of years working within the IT sector.

Michael has worked in 5 star hotels in Germany, the UK and Ireland in various management positions. He returned to the family business with the development of Monart destination spa and the redevelopment of Hotel Kilkenny. Michael has, with his brother and the team, successfully restructured, refinanced and returned to growth the family business during the recession years while also successfully completing a business succession plan in 2012.

Michael is an accomplished Cave and Technical mixed gas decompression diver who is an active member of a number of dive exploration teams and world class underwater research projects; ranging from cenotes in the Mexican Yucatan, North Florida aquifers to Atlantic and Baltic shipwrecks of historical and archaeological importance.

 

PETTITT’S SUPERVALU: Cormac Pettitt

Cormac Pettitt, is the current managing director of the wider Pettitt group. Cormac is a chartered accountant, taking the reins from his father Des Pettitt, less than a decade ago. Des remains chairman and majority shareholder. The Pettitts are best-known for their supermarkets across Wexford, Arklow and Athy, Co.Kildare. The family business empire in the region now includes the six supermarkets, five hotels and an aparthotel, three pubs, a farm, some property interests and a bowling and leisure centre. Cormac Pettitt, who trained as an accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers, has overseen the latest phase of expansion.

 

RIVERSIDE PARK HOTEL: Colm Neville

Colm is the owner and operator of the Riverside Park Hotel in Enniscorthy, the newly opened Crown Bar in Wexford town, and is the Chairperson for the Visit Wexford tourism group.

MCCAULEY CHEMIST: 

McCauley Health & Beauty was founded in 1953 by the late G.B. McCauley M.P.S.I. who acquired the Brooke Kelly Pharmacy at 21 Rafter Street, Enniscorthy, Wexford which operated as a Pharmacy since 1900’s. Over the next 40 years McCauley Chemists grew into a thriving enterprise. Sam McCauley and his wife Leslie, both Pharmacists, joined the family business in 1978 maintaining the well-established ‘family Chemist’ culture, long nurtured by Sam’s parents and staff.

McCauley Health & Beauty Pharmacy occupies a unique niche in the Pharmacy – Retailing market in Ireland. Today they currently operate over 30 stores nationally and employ over 500 staff and are ranked amongst the top 500 companies in Ireland and are one of a small group of pharmacies which holds the title of ‘Deloitte Best Managed Companies’

 

SLANEY FOODS: Rory Fanning

Rory Fanning, Managing Director of Slaney Foods International, Bunclody, has been a member of the Slaney team for over 30 years.  He returned to his native Wexford from managing the CBF (now Bord Bia) office in Paris.  Slaney Foods has grown and evolved to be recognised internationally as a leading Irish beef processor.  It is a significant employer in the region and together with its sister company Irish Country Meats, Camolin, today employs a skilled workforce of over 600 people.  Slaney Foods combines best-quality livestock from the Slaney Valley and beyond, with modern processing facilities to serve quality retail and food service markets worldwide.

 

 

TREACY’S HOTEL: Anton Treacy

 

Anton Treacy has been instrumental in growing Enniscorthy as a based hospitality destination.  With over 20 years’ experience in hotel management, sales and development, he has grown our overnight customer base to in excess of 35,000 visitors.  As part of the Treacys Hotel Group, with 4 hotels, our ethos of friendly customer service has led to rapid expansion of over 500 rooms nationally and 400 employees.

 

H.MURPHY: David Murphy

Murphy & Co. (E) Ltd. are one of the leading Cash & Carry’s in the South East with three branches in Enniscorthy, Arklow and New Ross. The business was first set up in September 1929 in Enniscorthy and was founded by Herbert Murphy and Jimmy Griffin. David has been in the business for 50 years. In 1986 he was appointed joint Managing Director alongside his brother Sydney, Sydney retired in 1998.

David has seen Enniscorthy’s Cash & Carry grow from strength-to-strength through expansion. In 1969 the company began this expansion by leasing a premises in Arklow and in 1975 purchased a site where they continue to trade today. The company further expanded its business to New Ross in 1990. Recently, H.Murphy went into the forecourt business by purchasing two forecourts in New Ross and in Bunclody.
