The Chamber hosted a very successful Rates Revaluation meeting in the Chamber Office on Wednesday night, October 10th., which attracted a large number of town and district business interests. Two senior members from the Valuation Office in Dublin attended and outlined in  detail the process which will be employed in revaluing town properties. All of County Wexford is due for revaluation in 2019 so our meeting on October 10th., was timely and very informative from a ratepayers point of view.

An interesting point to emerge from the meeting was the disclosure that in all areas where revaluations have occurred, upwards of 60% of properties have been rated downwards. This is very good news for Enniscorthy Town and District Ratepayers. The revaluation process will begin in January and a further meeting will take place in The Chamber when ratepayers receive their new rate demand sometime in late March or early April. The new demand, when received, can be appealed and the next public meeting is to determine the level of appeals.

Further details will be announced in due course.
