Skills and Training One Stop Shop for Wexford Businesses

County Wexford Chambers in collaboration with the South East Regional Skills Forum and Wexford County Council are bringing together all the education and training providers to showcase the range of new and improved training programmes now available to industry and businesses at an Expo event in Enniscorthy on Wednesday morning, 13th June.

For the first time, this Expo brings together IT Carlow, WIT, Waterford Wexford ETB and Wexford Chamber Skillnets to meet with Wexford based industry and explain the wide range of training opportunities now available. This includes new traineeships, apprenticeships, Springboard funded part time course from the IOTs and an extensive range of life long learning opportunities for staff to upskill in employment. Companies that support staff training to improve skills consistently report higher retention rates, which is becoming more important in a tightening labour market.

Funding of 25% to 90% is now generally available to companies for staff training. Furthermore training is now being delivered flexibly and on a part time basis to better accommodate employees and employers.

Registration commences at 9.00am in the Riverside Park Hotel in Enniscorthy on Wednesday 13th June. Participants will hear from all the education and training providers. They will also have the opportunity to meet on a one to one basis with training staff from all the training providers.

Companies engaged in engineering and manufacturing will also have the opportunity to participate in a forum on engineering skills and learn about a range of new training to upskill employees. This aspect of the Expo is being sponsored by Wexford County Council’s LCDC committee.

This event is free but booking is advised through your local Chamber office or Enniscorthy Chamber at 053 9232006.
