We in Enniscorthy and District Chamber hope that you will find our website and its links informative whether you are visiting as a member or potential member, foreign direct investor, SME, sole trader or an investor interested in locating a business or branch in the vibrant South East of Ireland. We have fantastic infrastructure including Motorway, Nearby Airports, Shipping Ports, and now, High-Speed Broadband. Enniscorthy Town and District, including the town of Bunclody, together make a fantastic place in which to live and do business.     Bibi Baskin was the first woman in Ireland to have a TV chat show of her own. She has returned to Ireland and gives motivational talks around the country on the subject of inviting change into your life and illustrates how she coped with this on her varied career path. Her talks also include an emphasis on Wellness, Mindfulness and other aspects of healthy living.

    The PAYE Modernisation Project will involve the most significant reform of the PAYE system since its introduction in 1960. Employers will be required to accurately calculate and report their employees pay and deductions as they are being paid.

    The move to Real Time Reporting (RTR) under Revenue’s PAYE modernisation regime is fast approaching!

    The new regime will be operational for all employee payments being made from 1st January 2019.

Psychiatrist, psychologist, psychoanalyst, psychotherapist – many people are perplexed by the preponderance of p-words in the mental health profession.  Dr. Laurena Nally will talk us through this complex system and will discuss some of the concerns that would bring someone to see a professional in light of our busy schedules and ever-changing busy environments.

    Dr. Nally is the director of Clody Psychological Services which offers a range of mental health services to children, adolescents, adults and families.  Dr. Nally, a Chartered Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland is committed to helping you to achieve the best outcome by working together to create a treatment plan based on your individual needs.  Laurena is adept at working with mood disorders and suicidal ideation, anxiety disorders, physical health problems and other difficulties.  Laurena’s skill set also includes extensive work with a forensic population.

    She will also talk about the upgraded JobsIreland website, which is the government’s public employment services jobs website. Where they offer a completely free recruitment service, Patricia will show how they can access the service.

    Margaret Murphy is the Resource Efficiency Officer with the Southern Region Waste Management Office. The office is funded by all ten local authorities in the region, including Wexford County Council. We aim to achieve strategic objectives as specified in our Regional Waste Management Plan which is available on our website www.srwmo.ie.

     

    Resource Efficiency for Businesses
    Margaret Murphy will speak generally on waste prevention and reducing waste at source. The talk will also include specific quick wins that any business can use to reduce waste and improve their waste management practices. An outline of the EcoMerit Programme for businesses will also be covered - the talk will highlight the typical savings that EcoMerit helps businesses to achieve through  improved energy, waste and water management.

    Topic: Climate Change 

    Phil Walker

    Phil is an engineer who started his career in the UK shipbuilding industry. Later he was based in South Korea, then China, developing quality and environmental certification businesses for an international certification body.
    He now runs the EcoMerit environmental support and certification scheme, which helps Irish SME’s to improve their sustainability while making significant savings in their energy, waste and water costs. There are now more than 100 EcoMerit certified sites across Ireland including five in the Enniscorthy area.
    Phil holds a first class honours degree in Naval Architecture; an M.Sc. in Production Technology; a Diploma in Welding Technology; and a Fellowship in Manufacturing Management.

    Topic: The IPS Model of Supported Employment. 

    Marion Barry, Employment Specialist Supervisor and Heather Hadrill, Employment Specialist for North Wexford, for the Wexford Mental Health Association, will discuss the IPS Model of Supported Employment. 

    IPS stands for Individual Placement and Support to support those with mental illness, in their efforts to achieve steady, meaningful employment in mainstream competitive jobs, either part time or full time.

    The Employment Specialists are central to the IPS programme and are integrated into the Mental Health Teams to support service users to return to work.  Marion and Heather will discuss the principles of the IPS model, what motivates employers to hire IPS clients and how it can be a win-win for both clients and employers.

    Heather Hadrill, Biography

    Heather Hadrill, currently works as an Employment Specialist for the Wexford Mental Health Association. She has experienced a diverse career to date, working with a range of organisations, managing client relationships, multiple projects and facilitation of confidence building and theatre workshops.  She is a qualified Craniosacral Therapist and Speech & Drama Teacher. Heather also has a B.A. Degree in Communications, from Dublin City University and a Business Management Development Certificate from Waterford Institute of Technology.  She worked as News Broadcaster and Researcher with South East Radio for six years before taking up Self-employment.  As a Craniosacral Therapist, Heather has worked with clients in Dublin and Wexford and received further training in London on Trauma and Healing from leading experts.  Heather’s professional work in Theatre includes over 10 years Directing and Producing Theatre productions in Ireland, Baroque Opera in the Czech Republic, teaching drama to children and adults, and as a Drama/Communications Tutor for Wexford Local Development.

    Marion Barry,

    Marion Barry is the Senior Employment Specialist with the IPS Employment Specialist programme and has been working with the programme since Jan 2015. Marion’s career profile has 20 years of business experience in retail and hospitality which includes a 15 year period of self-employment. During that period Marion was responsible for all overall operations, recruitment, human resources management, training and development within her organisation. Marion has detailed educational history in business and support including a Bachelor Business Management (hons) degree.

    Marion has a strong interest in supporting people with disabilities and she volunteers with early school leavers seeking employment. Marion also trained as a support worker with early intervention and behaviours supports for autism.

    Marion developed successful and meaningful relationships with key people in the business community to generate vocational opportunities for IPS ES clients. Her relationship with business people has been forged and cultivated over the past 20 years of her business/training career. The knowledge and relationships she nurtured has benefited the development and progression of the IPS Employment Specialist service.  Having had detailed experience of the IPS ES programme Marion believes that the private and public sector partnership, can under the right conditions offer service users hope in career development acting as a productive member of the wider community.
