Background to the Campaign
The Conscious Cup Campaign which is urging consumers to use reusable coffee cups and asking coffee shops to offer discounts when presented with a reusable cup Our aim is to reduce the number of disposable takeaway cups in County Wexford. It is estimated that a staggering two million disposable cups are sold every day in Ireland. The vast majority are non-recyclable and they end up in landfill.
Cafés and shops taking part in the Conscious Cup Campaign agree to offer customers a cash discount or a loyalty stamp when they bring their own reusable cup. Businesses that sign up will receive a free pack to include a door or window sticker and poster to display, free publicity across Conscious Cup Campaign social media platforms and each business will be geo-tagged on a live interactive map.
